Pop Culture in Maplewood and South Orange
Pop culture is an aspect that is seen in MAPSO (Maplewood and South Orange) in our everyday lives. The town is constantly being exposed to new trends and styles that are derived from social media. High school students follow these trends in order to express themselves in unique ways to differentiate themselves from their peers. Freedom of expression is important in our culture because individuality is praised in MAPSO. People express themselves in many ways such as dance, photography, music, sports, and more! Our articles touch upon subjects that are commonly shared between peers. MAPSO is constantly evolving around the blending of different cultures. With diversity being so prominent in MAPSO, different trends emerge from those who are not afraid to be different.
Our team has observed past and present trends that have been of interest to the student body at Columbia High School to bring together a series of articles that represent popular culture. We strived to compose quality articles that express the voice of the readership among high school students.
